I am a “hakim” or practitioner of Traditional Islamic Healing and Medicine (TIHM), trained since age six by my father. I have studied additional holistic therapies since 1990, including Classical Chinese Medicine, Osteopathic Manual Medicine, Meditation, Qigong, and Yoga. I hold a Master of Acupuncture degree (Traditional Acupuncture Institute) and certification in Chinese Herbology (Academy for Five Element Acupuncture). In 2000, I founded the Circle of One–a 501c3 non-profit Center of Traditional Medicine–to serve people in need. At present, I am advancing the Hakim Wellness Project to revive the study and practice of TIHM.
