How It Works

Ever the skeptic, I finally decided to give acupuncture a try for the first time this year after hearing about how it helped a friend handle the side effects of chemo. Her husband said he'd benefited too. After my first session, my only regret was that I had not started sooner. It worked like the perfect power-down, reset button, with a calming, almost blissful effect that lasted for weeks. There's a reason acupuncture has been around for thousands of years. It will forever be a part of my wellness routine. If you've ever been on the fence about trying it, take this skeptic's word for it -- it works!

My acupuncturist has helped me with everything from eczema to broken bones to auto-immune issues and the flu. She has also helped my family members heal cancer, soothe menstrual cramps and manage thyroid issues. Would definitely recommend acupuncture in general – and if you're in Queens, seek out Dr. Su-Chen Lor in Forest Hills :)
