I love feeling closer to nature and closer to the beach!

How It Works

Got “monkey mind”? Have a hard time slowing down anxious thoughts? Me, too. I’m certainly no meditation expert, but I would consider using a breath mantra to be the equivalent of training wheels – a primer, if you will, for more meditation that is total stillness, completely quiet. Breath mantras are a great place for beginners (and seasoned meditation practitioners!) to just get comfortable with sitting still and paying tribute to pranayama. The exhale is figuratively AND literally a release; so with each exhale you are letting go of whatever it is that no longer serves you. Inhales invite nourishment into your being, so why not focus that nourishment on a specific concept?

The way you use these is exactly how they sound – as you breathe in, you completely focus on the word or concept you desire. As you exhale, you focus on the word or concept you’re trying to let go of. Keep your mind totally focused on just these two words and allow yourself to be free from attachment from any other thoughts that arise.

Exhale Distraction; Inhale Focus

Exhale Fear; Inhale Courage

Exhale Anxiety; Inhale Calmness

Exhale Chaos; Inhale Peace

Exhale Judgment; Inhale Love

Happy tranquility!
