Arm Yoga Meditation

Arm Yoga Meditation is a short simple meditation that came to me during my own various Tantric Vajrayana (Tibetan) and Kundalini (including that taught by Yogi Bhajan) meditation practices which I conduct at sunrise each day. As an astrologer for over 35 years, a life-long meditator and researcher Circadian and Dream Consciousness, I can assure you that this exercise will help you expand and unify your energy field while at the same time set your Absolute Centre. The aim is to get -

…Out of Your Head and into your Body

Let’s begin. Sit in easy pose, rock pose or on an upright chair. Shake out your shoulders and clench your thighs a few times before beginning, this is to orient your awareness away from your head and into your body. Be intuitive, you understand the aim.

This is a powerful meditation practice that should take between 6 – 11 minutes depending upon your counting. It is a complete meditation and can be performed on its own at any time of the day. Once is sufficient. The aims are as follows:

·     Intuitively locate your personal Cosmic Planes.

·     Trust and be in the presence of your Cosmic Planes.

·     Let them adjust and pull you to them.

·     As this happens, and you will be aware, locate your centre.

·     Every time you are in a posture, locate the centre of it.

The 5 + 5 + 5 + 5 Breath

The breathing you will practice is the count of five for in-breath, then hold for five, release for five, hold for five. As you breathe in, place your awareness at the extremities of your fingertips. This is you reaching for your Personal Cosmic Plane(s). At the top of the breath, the count of five – hold – hold – hold – hold – hold. During the ‘hold’, consciously set your attention on both the fingertips AND your centre – located above and just behind your naval. When you exhale to the count of five, you will feel the expanded form deflate back towards your centre. Hold there for the count of five and consciously centre – centre – centre – centre – centre. You will repeat this cycle of breath at each station or posture of the arms.

Position #1 – Right and Resting in Left Hand on Lap or Front of Pubis

Shoulders back. Spine light. Chest elevated but not forced. Arms resting. Palms soft in a half moon cup on lap or in front of pubis (if in easy pose). This is where you locate your Plane of the Moon. The moon has no light of her own and reflects the sun. She is dependent upon the sun for her life force. You are dependent upon the sun for your life force.

Breath in for five– awareness at fingertips – then set your centre – hold – hold – hold – hold – hold – exhale. Attention at fingertips AND centre – hold – hold – hold – hold – hold – locating the centre of your centre with each count – NEXT RE-POSITION THE ARMS -

Position #2 – Arms Float 6-inches from Hips

Open the fingers, FEEL around for your Plane of Mercury. This is your yearning to feel union with another. To not be alone. Feel around until you feel a sense of support or balancing force of the plane. Trust the feeling. Do this as you breathe in for five– awareness at fingertips – then set your centre – hold – hold – hold – hold – hold – exhale. Attention at fingertips AND centre – hold – hold – hold – hold – hold – locating the centre of your centre with each count – NEXT RE-POSITION THE ARMS –

Position #3 – Arms Float 12-inches from Hips – Raise another 6-Inches

Open the fingers, FEEL around for your Plane of Venus. This is you’re Plane of Self-Esteem and Self-Worth. To claim your right to exist and to happiness. Feel around until you feel a sense of support or balance. Trust the feeling. Do this as you breathe in for five– awareness at fingertips – then set your centre – hold – hold – hold – hold – hold – exhale. Attention at fingertips AND centre – hold – hold – hold – hold – hold – locating the centre of your centre with each count – NEXT RE-POSITION THE ARMS –

Position #4 – Arms Float to Level with the Shoulders

Open the fingers, FEEL around for your Plane of Mars. This is your power to manifest courage, amplifying your concentration and push forward, raise your chest. Feel the force of the plane and rest upon it. Soon you will feel the Planes find you and pull you in. Trust the feeling. Do this as you breathe in for five– awareness at fingertips – then set your centre – hold – hold – hold – hold – hold – exhale. Attention at fingertips AND centre – hold – hold – hold – hold – hold – locating the centre of your centre with each count – NEXT RE-POSITION THE ARMS –

Position #5 – Arms Float 6-inches above Shoulder Level

Close the fingers, FEEL around for your Plane of Jupiter. This is where you feel elevated, supported and lifted upwards by the cosmos. This is where you feel fearless, safe and living in your highest wisdom. Feel around until you feel a sense of support or balance. Trust the feeling. Do this as you breathe in for five– awareness at fingertips – then set your centre – hold – hold – hold – hold – hold – exhale. Attention at fingertips AND centre – hold – hold – hold – hold – hold – locating the centre of your centre with each count – NEXT RE-POSITION THE ARMS –

Position #6 – Arms Float another 6-inches (roughly 150 degrees from your Pubis)

Close the fingers, FEEL around for your Plane of Saturn/Uranus. This is your yearning to be on an equal footing with others. To have and belong to a tribe. To feel part of humanity. To be of equal value to all others. Feel around until you feel a sense of support or balance. Trust the feeling. Do this as you breathe in for five– awareness at fingertips – then set your centre – hold – hold – hold – hold – hold – exhale. Attention at fingertips AND centre – hold – hold – hold – hold – hold – locating the centre of your centre with each count – NEXT RE-POSITION THE ARMS –

Position #7 – Arms Float to Straight Up, Hugging the Ears

Close the fingers, FEEL around for your Plane of Saturn. This is your yearning for mastery. To be in possession of life-empowering wisdom. To be your own teacher and guide. Trust the feeling. Do this as you breathe in for five– awareness at fingertips – then set your centre – hold – hold – hold – hold – hold – exhale. Attention at fingertips AND centre – hold – hold – hold – hold – hold – locating the centre of your centre with each count – NEXT RE-POSITION THE ARMS –

Now move back down through the postures exactly as you did going up, once at the bottom, Position #1, imagine your energy field a complete sphere, you are whole, you are expanded in your form, you are at your centre, both expanded and centred at the same time. One final count and hold then sit for a few more moments to enjoy the feeling of immense unity, belonging, empowerment, wholeness and expanded-ness.

When you are ready shake your arms and legs to distribute the energy.

This practice is a Neuro-Immersive Transformation Practice which immerses your brain, brain stem and nervous system in absolute buoyancy and centredness – Just like each planet, including planet Earth. Trust that each time you do this practice it will show up for you in your dream cycles and sleep. This is where the true benefit of your effort will set to work. Resetting your unique Master Cosmic Planes, amplifying them, and in turn will loosen any contradictory or unhelpful holding patterns and habits. You cannot fail!

May be performed with music or in silence.
