Cinnamon Turmeric Smoothie To Soothe the Pain
How It Works
I can't say enough about the amazing anti-inflammatory benefits of turmeric. It has the ability to reduce inflammation throughout the body, which in turn, can greatly decrease the pain you are experiencing. Turmeric can reduce the swelling from sprains, ease muscle and joint aches, help manage the daily battle of chronic back pain, and arthritis. There are even studies noting its ability to reduce inflammation that causes various gastrointestinal issues, including IBS, indigestion, and ulcerative colitis.
There are many ways to take advantage of the healing properties turmeric offers. Turmeric can be taken as an oral supplement, used in your favorite curry recipe, in an oil extract form, or used in a variety of smoothie or tea recipes.
My favorite way to help reduce muscle pain and inflammation after being on my feet all day is a cinnamon turmeric smoothie. It's easy to make and helps tremendously.
I use approximately 10oz of low fat milk or an unsweetened vanilla almond milk (when I want a bit more flavor). I add 1 banana, 1 tsp of cinnamon and 1 tsp of ground turmeric. Blend well in the blender, pour, and drink!
