When our internal "needs" are not met with awareness, understanding, and acceptance, we create a space of dis-ease within ourselves. For the past 14 years, while practicing and teaching Nia*, Sandra has been in remission from NH Lymphoma.
*Nia is a holistic whole body exercise that combines several martial arts and dance disciplines with meditation.

Story

Sandra Fontana was diagnosed with NonHodgkins Lymphoma in 2004.
Sandra had chemotherapy treatment, and knew radiation was next.
Ms. Sheila Frodermann, MS, ND, DHANP, CCH- Naturopathic Physician and Homeopath, suggested Sandra try daily exercise, to release toxins, from the accumulation of chemo in the body, to rebuild her immune system, before she had radiation.
Sandra, committed to healing, made a decision to partake an intensive training in Boston, for 7 days, called Nia,Neuromuscular Integrative Action focuses on 13 joints in the body, moving energy, systemically, for thousand of nerve endings. Nia training included movement dynamics, mind body physiology, kinesiology, choreography, music appreciation and anatomy.

Sandra has been in remission from NH Lymphoma, for the past 14 years, as a result of teaching Nia, which originated from the west coast. Nia is a holistic whole body exercise that combines several martial arts and dance disciplines, for a fun cardiovascular workout.
Blending elements of Tai Chi, yoga, martial arts, jazz and modern dance, ending with meditation.
